River Mawddach

A five mile walk with Jo in Wales. The Dyfi and Mawddach rivers are the finest in Snowdonia. This short walk follows part of the trail that explores the estuarine section of the Mawddach, a haven for birds. Starting and ending in Penmaenpool, the walk begins steeply but soon flattens out into a more sedate stroll.

A steep 5 mile January walk with Jo up Pen-ey-ghent in late Janurary. Recent snowfall was still on the ground throughout much of the walk. Deep snow on the descent made for some interesting walking conditions.
